AFRICA: LAND OF STRENGTH AND DIVERSITY, THEREFORE CREATIVE

I was a guest of the Ousmane Faye Family, my African family in Dakar.

Relaxed and comfortably seated on the terrace, I watched what happened in the life below.
It was like being at the theater and seeing everyday life as if it were a show.
"An intense moment", the street was invaded by bright colors and I breathed air imbued with a pleasant smell, that spicy scent that seemed to emanate peace and joy and that flooded me with serenity and curiosity.
And then that hum of people who greet each other with a big smile saying "Bonjour comme ca và" small things that make you fell in communion with everyone and everything.
In this daily panorama I noticed that for the whole week, every day, at about the same time around 2 pm for lunch, Ousmane came out of the house and the went to the neighbors, a little girl.
She walked, with a slow step and a large round tray full of rice, vegetables and the catch of the day.
Curiosity grew in me, and grew to such an extent that I decided to ask a young woman for explanations.
She replid by saying that some very poor families lived in the neighborhood, because without work or without men.
For this reason, the neighborhood community would help them until their situation improved; and added: there is always someone to support, "it is normale for us" and he continued, to make me understand lightly "and how to be in a large village where we are all a family".
My heart jumped "UBUNTU" I thought; a word born in South Africa, flows in the soul and body of all Africans; and which expresses a very simple concept: I am fine when you are fine.
This is Africa, the land of sharing.
For this reason I wanted to contribute during my winter holidays, to creative events with street children and local schools with the support of a loving director named Amina.
It supported me to build large, puzzle-like maps of Africa and the children colored a state at will, finally we united everything to make and represent an Africa united in the love of everything and everyone.
The bridge that allowed me to live this experience in Joè Faye, a great friend, artist who accompanied me through the knowledge of this land and this wonderful people.
To those who want to know this enchanting land I send an invitation: make friends with an African who lives here.
And so over time you can take a trip with them; not to be a tourist but a traveler, not to fall into the usual false truths, and images made facetious, we learn to look at this wonderful land with the eyes of a child, venturing to something that is always been in us.

MILAN

After creating African maps in Africa, I received many invitations to create them in Italy, so I created events in some parks in Milan, where passers-by intrigued by the colorful welcome shared with me the creation of maps of Africa, a wonderful experience, where children of all nationalities colored Friendship together.
